The revised Student Text has updated photos in addition to the classic artwork. The question and answer sections have been revised and referenced to the Catechism. New vocabulary is now indicated by bold type. Common Catholic prayers have been inserted in the chapters and included in the back of the text. Every chapter now opens with a Scripture passage. The student text, which is not a workbook, can be reused year after year. Quotations from Scripture, the liturgy, church documents and the saints highlight important points. Questions and answers at the end of each chapter help in review and memorization. All the illustrations are full-color, taken primarily from classical Catholic religious artworks. Grade 4 is a simple introduction to Old Testament and New Testament stories, plus basics of the faith. It includes 30 chapters plus Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter lessons, and supplementary Catholic glossary and prayers. (2002-05)
